Hey Guys,
Just wondered what your favourite distortion pedals are and why do you like them so much? I have a friend who is in a distortion dilemma..and has spent hours researching youtube..lol! I did point out that it can be a bit of an art trying to nail the tone you want. He is very much a fan of the American rock sound..ala Mr Lukather...any thoughts on what/which pedals to look for will surely help.
Thanks in advance........
Distortion Pedals..whats your fave?
Search and ye shall find.....

I`ve always liked the character of distortion in Tubescreamers but I`ve never liked the compression and the lowcut character of them (the cut is at about 200hz). I`ve tried the original, I`ve tried the reissues, I`ve tried the Keeley modded and I`ve tried a good bunch of clones but nothing struck me for years. About a year ago I got my hands on this little box (http://www.mpamp.com/pedal/pedals-lgw.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and I must admit that this one is really, really good. It`s like a TS but without the compression and the lowcut. Add ridiculous amount of boost (if desired) and that "body" knob and I got my dream pedal.
So, my fave DS/OD/BOOST-pedal is Mad Professor "Little Green Wonder".
PS: Check out the sound samples...

I've always liked my TS-808 (original) & TS-9 TubeScreamers
I'll tell ya what though.... I recently picked up a little practice amp.
It's a Vox DA-15. I think it sounds incredible!
I actually use it as a solo-boost at gigs.
