Opinions on the Line 6 DL4..?

Hey there.

I've heard heaps of good things but then just as much if not more bad stories about peoples' DL4's breaking after a short period of time..

I've heard it in action and I just fell in love with it straight away..
But the hefty price tag along with the fact I don't think its available in my country, gives me a reluctance to buy something that could very well break easily..

Anyone have personal experience with this pedal?

its a great pedal...

i think the best delay in the world is a boss dd6
but what the hell can you do with it live? one button and you have to hold for tap tempo ect..
not a very good delay unless you have 2-3 of them live...

the dd7 may be good or better- i dont know but it still has one button

the dl4 is awesome- i sold mine for a Boss GT-10 so i could have EVERY delay i could possibly want stored

the looper is awsome although you'd have to bend down and switch it to that position live
and it gives you3 presets plus a tap tempo

i wish it had more buttons like 6 plus a tap- but 3 is ok i guess,
and half the delays are useless

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!-
the buttons and stuff are wired DIRECTLY on to the circuit board. so when you stomp on the switch and STOMP on the tap tempo switch you're directly stoping on the circuit bd so thats why so many go bad-

its stupid- the newer ones are a bit better but still you have that risk

i used it for one show and after it was scratched up and beat up like i had it for 10 yrs-

but its a great pedal regardless- a bit pricey

prefare the dd-20 it niver smaller and has more features

But it is a little more noisy, but i am a bit of an Ej when it comes to pedals, most folks prob wont notice

and yeah the old boss delays were much more great, 2 of them in a setup and ur set

I'm particularly interested in the Loop Sampler as well.
Do any of those alternatives combine the Loop Sampler with Delay? and if so, do it well?

Thanks for the replies so far!

the loop sample and delay doesnt work at the same time

and you have to physically move the dial to that setting to use it

and when you want to go back to delayland you have to move the dial again

Ah okay. Thanks.
I'm not really fussed about having to move the dial.
Its just finding a way to get it in Australia other than eBay..
