some say the best strings are from daddario and others from ernie ball. i know it´s a bit relative but what are the best strings for electric guitar?

You'll get a lot of opinions but this question can only be answered on your own. I find for 9's EB Super Slinkies are the best but on my other guitar I use 10's and cannot go wrong with GHS boomers. Just try a different brand/set every time you change strings and use your best judgement!

there really aren't many companies actually making guitar strings. I'd say 5 or 6 brands at tops or that is my understanding.
ernie ball and GHS i belive (as well as dunlop) are all the same strings . Dean markely and www.webstrings.com are the same.
i think strings work a lot like guitar companies do. all korean made guitars are made in the samick factory, and as i know all the chinese model guitars are made in the same factory. The fugin factory in japan makes some deans, esps, some fenders, and whatever else.

i'm really not a fan of d'addario strings at all
i'm not a fan of ernie ball either; although they were the only company i can easily find .008 strings of
although now i stopped using .008's cuz my new band tunes down 1/2 step
if i had any choice of strings i'd go with dean markley blue steels
i have broke more d'addario strings than any other kind.
I like ernie ball earthwood acoustic strings.
for my non main guitars i use cheap guitar center musicians choice strings cuz i get them for like for so so so cheap (90 cents a pack for acoustic strings, $2.90 a pack for bass strings, and like 75-90 cents for each pack of guitar strings)

I use D'addario 9's on both my guitars and have yet to find a reason to switch. I used a lot of different brands and always came back to these.

It's very subjective. I personally prefer Snake Oil Brand strings (9-42) on all of my lead electrics (PRS, Parker, Dean), Thomastik-Infeld (flatwound; 10-48 ) on my semi-hollows (custom-built PRS, Epiphone Dot), and Dean Markleys (12-52) on my Taylor acoustic.
The kind of strings is generally more important than the brand (gauge, wound-type, material, wound 3rds, etc). The difference between brands is generally pretty minimal, there are some exceptions, but not too many.
It also varies based on the guitar and pick-ups, how much difference changing the strings make. Some pick-ups are more sensitive to certain things than others.

I think Ernie Balls are great for sound but tend to break more easy than any other strings I've tried... those were the 10s though, I use 9 now and they seem to be more durable.

I use D'Addario and buy one string at a time starting with lights for the high e and ending with heavys on the low end. Very similar to EB Hybrids, only slightly more change between the gauges and i personally prefer the feel of the D over EB. i do this because i like the feel in the high end with light gauges but with Lights across the board you lose too much tone in the low end for my taste. find what works best for you.
Like it's been said before through the thread, this is personal preference. I've been using DR High Beams 9-42 on all my guitars for about 6 or 7 years now. Seem to hold up for a few gigs before they start to get that dullness to them.
