Oh yeah... why? Because it freaks my students out!!!

The piece I'm most proud of playing is Scherzo Tarantelle by Henryk Wieniawski (this is on the violin)
Why? Cos it took me ages to get the beginning bits sounding good. It's tricky for the bow (like a tongue twister for the bow. It's not too bad to rip through, but hard to produce even notes with a quality sound and tone) and whilst I was lucky enough to find most things on the violin relatively quick to get sorted, that is the thing that's taken me the longest. It was a bit of an epiphany for me cos I had to actually do some real work on it to get it and it was the first time I'd had to do that.
Having said that, I probably can't play the piece any more!! That was before I went to College and I haven't played it for 12 years...
On guitar it would probably be Dream Theater's Metropolis, Pt. 1
The first time I nailed the fast run with the keyboard gave me such a buzz and I can still feel that feeling when I think about it.

Most of the songs I like to play are my own. Because they are from the bottom of my heart and soul. When I solo or improv. over solo parts I do not only use the knowledge I have but I try to express the moments feeling, and that comes out always very true to me (and maybe to the audience too). But I for the cover song part I would have to say Always with me Always with you, from Joe Satch. Because even if you get all the notes right some times and get all the harmonics there perfetly. If you don't play giving your all, with your soul, you will f*ck up the song, and turn a beautyful ballad into a boring jingle.
not the intro riff... the second fill.jmchambers5 wrote:I can play that intro riff rightDr.N.A.Ma wrote:crazy train... it was the first semi difficult song i learned... i play it pretty good except for that one riff that no one can play right.

where he slides up the guitar on the bottom 2 strings doing pull offs and then hitting the second string... i have never met a person that could do it. but rest assure, i'll be working on that heh heh.
