Awesome playing, but part me hopes that his parents havent kept him indoors day after day playing and practicing at the expense of his life. I mean, nurture a talent and all but the kid's gotta live as well

To be honest, that makes me lose respect for that shred style. I mean, if it's so soul-less than an 8 year old can practice over and over and do that, is it worth anything? Not to put him down or anything, and I'm not saying that because I'm jealous because a little while ago I played like that too. But I hope he can play other styles, too, is all.

He's a lot better than that kid that slopped through eruption and had people bowing down to him.

Someone posted a video a while back of some 12 year old playing "eruption" and noodling around. He really sucked, he coudl barely get through it and it was sloppy as hell, but there were people on stage bowing down to him like some sort of god. It was quite asanine

i seriously hoe he develops the ability to write well, hes dangerously close to becoming a malmsteen. I mean steve has the restraint to write acoustics songs and not play constant ridiculous sweeps even though he could. I do envy that child but hes obviously put in the time so he deserves to do well.

Not doubting whether he will ever be a 'guitar hero', only time will tell, he's very skilled and has alot of talent, but I honestly feel that kids that stick out this far, this early, usually burn out or average out-that goes for all child actors, painters, prodigies <sp> ect... or to paraphrase the guy from 'Almost Famous', "As he gets older, he'll meet the rest of us in the long journey to the middle".
I seriously doubt this kid will ever fall in the mediocre catagorie. Unless he stops playing for a few years or something. This kid is excellent. not just for an 8 year old. He pretty much beats the living crap out of any 30 year old guitarist I know, and I know literally dozens of them.

this kid has what it takes to go all the way. his sucess will depend on his heart, and how he's marketed (by himself or a company). He needs to develop a cool stage show though. That's what often seperates the good from the good who get attention

I personaly believe that this child, has a very bright future :D .
and i believe undoubtedly that MR Vai may have something to say about this  .

I will quote from song lyrics, this may seem cheesy but, I believe the children are our future, teach them well, and let them leed the way.

This child has welcomed the music, and has not had this forced upon him, i Believe he will Embrace his gift.

What he does with it, is his choice later in life.

I think we could learn from his example, if a child can get this advanced so early in life, then it just shows what we all as people are capable of, i just hope he is led in the right direction, by the right people/person. :!:

Good luck, little buddy

I wish you every success.
