I really want a JEM, but I just don't have that kind of money. What would a cheaper Ibanez substitute? My only requirment is a locking trem.

A used 3020 would be very nice, it has a neckthrough body and edge trem.

steve had a few white 1570s(i think, it may have been another model) that he used as basher guitars instead of screwing up a jem.

Why not buy a guitar from the rg 25xx series instead of 15xx? You get better pickups at least. :P And the DiMarzio/IBZ Customs ARE good. :D

Get a Lakland 6 string, put really light strings on it, and play it like a guitar.

I dunno, I just love my new Lakland.

I just bought a used RG 350DX off of Ebay for $255.00 with an Evolution bridge pickup, and just modified an "Edge" tremolo to fit the body. The stock tremolo is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen on a guitar, but luckly I have spare parts in boxes. I am also waiting for a back-order for another Evolution (Neck) and Dimarzio HS-3 to go into the middle position. The guitar plays like a dream, and I can abuse the SHIT out of the whammy and it never goes out of tune. I put some Ernie Ball .08's on, and they are extremely responsive and bright! Man I love this guitar, and can hold-off for along time on getting a Jem. Total investment about $500

the rg320fm is cool as well, the edge pro 2 they started using on them is way better than the lo-trs. They are nice guitars too, if not you can get an rgt42 they are nice as well and are neck through.

i think that it would be better to buy a RG15XX instead of a RG25XX cause it would be cheaper and u can change the pickups with the money that u didn't spend on the RG25XX

Cheers!
