OK, i got B.C.Rich Warlock Platinum Blue Matallic 8) ....But i am going to exchange it for one of the Ibanez RG series, 270 or 370. So here we go, folks -- i need your advice, can't really choose between both. From the first sight, RG370 got better sound, the neck feels good... but i kinda don't like that shark tooth neck inlay -- pretty unusual to interact with it, and that plastic stripe over the lower neck edge doesn't feel good. RG270 has a standard dot neck inlay, no plastic decoration, and the fretboard is a polished rosewod, which feels good) against the bound rosewood for RG370 particular one i saw. And the 270 one is a blue body, 370 is a dark green. The rest(body, frets, floyds, pickups, etc) seems to be the same.

So, guys, any opinion would be good to hear! :)

I don't think a Jem is just an RG on steroids. It's way more than that.

I think if you get a 7V, especially the white one, you're laughing. You can't go wrong. Yes it's expensive, but you get everything you pay for.

I've played a lot of RG's recently and none of them were worth trying to compare with my Jem. I don't say this because I think the Jem is the best thing in the world, just because it's Steve's.

In all honesty, I found the JS1000 more playable, but didn't discover this until after I got my Jem. nevermind, just have to save up a grand.

The other Jem's, especially the 555, aren't, in my opinion, quite as a standard as the 7V but are still better than the RG's.

I thoroughly recommend the Ergodyne guitars - they're heavy, but sound great and are well equipped, hardware-wise. Check 'em out. At the end of the day tho, we can only provide an opinion - you gotta try out a bunch of guitars and decidewhich most suits you, your playing, and your bank account.

Well, thanks for such a comprehensive info, 962 :) My heart&soul definately say that i would buy all the guitars Steve and Joe made at Ibanez(and even those of Munky&Head guys from KoЯn ;) ) ....but my bank account says that i'm going for RG at the moment

'72 Telecaster
'92 Jem DSY
'98 S
Ovation Celebrity
Jazz Bass
Brand New limited Ed. Tele
Jem7VWH
Hamer Strat knock off

How about looking for a secondhand rg which is better than the 370, or a secondhand jem555? More guitar for your bucks that way.

here, btw, what Steve says about JEMs and RGs:
Oh, the Jem came first and then the RG followed as a more affordable model of the Jem. They may have been released at the same time I really don't know. It's extraordinary how out of the loop I am with these things. I'm still really facinated with the sounds they can make though.

Greg, 962 said "especially the 555, aren't, in my opinion, quite as a standard as the 7V but are still better than the RG's". Also someone else at some other place suggested RG570 instead of 370/270.

Now i think it is all the matter of spare cash you have, so probly i gota collect some more of it, hehe ;) :D

Thanx.

oh, and here's about JEM333 by Steve; the price is just amazing  :
Now when people in those territories want a Jem style guitar but only have the equivalent of $112.00 USD (I need to check that too… I mean Anthony does, (As soon as he gets his head out of my ass, just kidding) they can actually get a half way decent guitar. It will never be available at retail in the Western Hemisphere, trust me.

Damn , all you guys have so Many guitars :P
hehe ., i have 2 electrics and 2 acoustic ... well , maybe just cus im just 16 :P
I want money to buy more. ;) hehe

And for the "jem beeing more than...." discussion ..
I agree with the people (if there are any HERE) that the JEM isnt worth its price . . The stock jem´s strong side , is its looks ... I played a 7SB .. and i was dissapointed . it was almost 4000$ and ive played MANY better guitars ... even RGs ... and i hate rgs ... So , JeMS are not more , than fancy Rgs with EVO\BREED\PAF PRO Pickups and Tigerclaw floydrose ...
thats my opinion ...

I´ve got an Ibanez RG570 with Evolution pickups. It's great for live playing. But the greatest thing is its comfortable freatboard. You get pretty fast in it, yet sounding clearer. I'm actually a great fan of Ibanez guitars, but now I´m having a custom guitar made. I think that´s the better way to get exactly what you want and most of all, you don´t throw away money.
