I was just wondering which Jem7v's are the best ?
The early ones with an ebony fretboard and a low edge pro trem or the ones with the rosewood fretboard and the latest ibanez trem system ?
I have a 2008 model Jem 7v which the latest trem on and I was thinking of switching it out with a lo edge pro trem (the same as what FLO has I believe)
What Jem7v is better ?

I think since Edge-PRO trem was out ... the jem's never used other trems...
can you take a photo of you trem. on your jem7v ?
no ebony fretboard please^^.
I like mine very much, don´t know what it is though. Very playable, I know I mentioned that, but except the aging effect, she felt absolutely like Evo.
Now I´m interested, how exactly do I see when it was made
?

I was kind of wondering the same thing.
I'd like to find an earlier 7v with Ebony + "thin wirey neck" like EVO
also routed for Edge/Edge-Pro.
When did Ibanez change the neck thickness?
I've got an '03 & the neck is thicker than the older ones.

No its just a jem neck. Wizard necks are normally found on other Ibanez models like the rg and s series guitars.Jeries wrote:i dont think they ever did
i thought/think its always been Wizard II neck
Does anybody know if a edge lo pro tremelo system would fit on to a new jem 7v with the new edge pro system ?
Cheers man, I'll stick with the edge pro. I've got a nice edge lo pro 7 on my universeSRVoodoo wrote:there has been much talk about swapping the edge-pro for a low-pro and it will work....only if you want to route out your body & possibly suffer some intonation issues.
it is definately NOT a direct swap.

only the JEM7PBK and the JEM777VDY have the wizard neck
The neck profile of the JEM7DBK is a bit thinner (front to back) than the traditional JEM neck as requested by Steve Vai. It is described as unique to the JEM but "kind of a Wizard neck at the nut but not at the 12th fret".
