will floyd rose work on GRG170dx

Measure the distance between the studs and if it is 74mm then it will but you'll have to shim the hell out of the neck as the trem will have to sit on top of the guitar.
All in all - not really worth it.

Why don't you ebay your RG170 and with the money you get + the money you were going to spend on a trem just get an RG with a trem.

hey,
from the specs i saw on the grg170dx you will need to do a bit of modification to the body ,some router work im talkin, to accept the larger ,recesed floating bridge of the floyd rose. any particular reason you would want such a drastic mod on a ( please no offense ) lower /mid grade model ibanez? a 250/300 dollar guitar with a 150-300$ mod depending on the floyd model and labor charge. , sounds like a nightmare. weigh your options. i say dont do it but thats me.

my friend gave me a floyd rose trem and i dont know what to do with it.
