Any Paul Gilbert fans?

#1 Post by Wizzerd » Tue Apr 29, 2003 11:14 pm

I just have to say that Paul Gilbert is as good as Steve is. But if i had to choose, i would pick Steve ofcourse. But still, Paul is very talented. And has been around for quite some time now and knows his way around the stage and guitar.

Any other opinions

ps: you should really check out his freaky website

Paul Gilbert's good for hilarious music nowadays...and then to know that he's THE most perfected shredder from the shred-era...You gotta love the guy
Can't wait to get his Best of... CD that's coming out sometime this year.

I would certainly recommend 'Alligator farm' the song, and Metal dog (also called Terrifying guitar trip i think. listen and get blown away.

Gilbert is amazing, I still can't get my head round some of the stuff he does, his rythm playing is sublime.

yessssssss! Racer X is the finest band around. Paul Brandon Gilbert, Mr. Juan Alderete on the bass guitar (also of The Mars Volta - on tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers NOW), Scott Travis on the drumkit and of course Motorman his own badself.... Jeff Martin.

I like the old Racer X stuff that I've heard, and I have one of his instructional videotapes.

Has anyone seen the "Yellow Matter Custard" band (PG, Mike Portnoy, the bass-playing Bissonette, and someone else) -- that plays a Beatles show?

I used to be the biggest PG freak ever. I am a drummer too. Figure that one out???

I have everything he's done that I can get my hands on.

I feel that he and Steve are totally different players and very hard to compare the 2.

I think that Paul's solo stuff is very well written and is top quality when it comes to the recordings.

I think Paul's solo stuff is what I call 21st century Beatles with shred guitar.

Also, if you listen to Paul's stuff, you'll see that not only each album is different but, each song is different. Like Steve in a way, yet totally different.

I would recommend any of Paul's solo stuff. I like Burning Organ and Beehive Live best.

I personally think that Paul's music is good enough for him to have videos and get steady play on MTV etc. The songs are that strong. Not just because he is a guitar player and the solo's rock, but because the songs are really good. His singing voice has really improved with each cd released.

I third a PG G3. So long as they make sure they come to Vancouver.
