I'm old, and it's been a long time since i rocked out to RJD on a regular basis.
My niece called me a half hour ago in tears and gave me the news, she's 13 and a metal head.
It amazes me how many generations music can affect.
He will be missed.

His personna on stage was not the true Human Being that Ronnie James Dio was. To know him was to know one of the kindest and gentlest people you could ever have the good fortune of meeting.

I believe he deserves a special televised tribute to his life as much as any of the greats in the commercial world did, but he won't get one, at least not here. Even if many people aren't dio or metal fans, I think seeing how he lived life would help us all re-prioritize the important things and maybe reconsider how we should think and behave in our own lives and towards others.
Ronnie James Dio lived and breathed what he did so well and this is evident in his vocal performance and stage presence. He devoted every part of himself to creating a surreal and mystical journey through his music and shows and made it seem so believable.
He was a true singer, a very unique singer and I thank him so much for the lifetime of accomplishments he's left to the world.
