4.- Learning to Live
5.- Wait for Sleep
6.- Beyond This Life

come on man...those are all great albums...but speaking objectively none of them can beat some of the old masterpieces

I think there def on a par with their classic's. He couldn't go wrong with SFAM, Budokan & Score.

dt is really the only band where every song blows your mind away
i would highly recommend Score, i have the DVD, the production is AWESOME, great sounding album.
takes you through from past to present

tracklist:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Score_(album" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

good thing about a live album is that there are the extended-extended solos and all, lovely stuff

also score is better than budokan because of a few reasons(imo)
-budokan was too bass heavy, couldn't really hear the keyboards and guitars well
-petrucci was not playing perfect in budokan, he was in score, flawless

now go get it :headbang

:P
that's the 'problem' with dt

every album is great
but still if i had to choose only one i'd go with score, as it has songs from all albums
plus score has a track they didn't release, Raise The Knife

im such a petrucci fanboy

Score is an awesome idea, though if you can, go for Scenes from new york too, it has classics a plenty, plus, hilarious audio commentary..

Off the top of my head, my fav dt 10:- (not in order)

Take the time
Surrounded
hell's kitchen
all of scenes,(hey, it can be called one song)

definitely go for Six Degress Of Inner Turbulence(a.k.a SDOIT) disc 2, all of its, very beautiful music. goodnight kiss, and solitary shell.

In the name of god, and stream of consciousness
These walls, the root of all evil

and most of Systematic chaos..

I pretty much overstepped the 10 songs. :D
nothing off of Awake, gotta listen to that again

Get into their music, they are super awesome :headbang :guitar

Making a "top ten" SO doesn't do justice to Dream Theater's music.
