I'm actually not as interested in the DVD. It'll be interesting to watch, but I don't think Joe's music works as well when performed by a three-piece. Even when it is that line-up! 8)

No, I just want a remastered "Surfing With The Alien". That'll do me nicely. :D

For some reason, I prefer seeing Joe in a power trio as opposed to having a dedicated rhythm guitarist. While I'll admit he can do more intense leadwork that way, I kind of like to see how he manages to jump from rhythm to lead and back again, it's pretty amazing really. When a song starts, I start to wonder, "How the hell is he gonna pull this one off by himself!" lol.

I got my copy yesterday and the DVD is GREAT! :D

There is alot of energy in this band, remember they did not start the
concert before 4:00 AM!

Stuart Hamm is smashing his bass hard like I nevner have seen before.
And Jonathan Mover is also playing with ALOT of energy!

Satriani himself is also crazy. He is most of the time using the
guitar that I guess is the same as on the cover of Flying...
Also his pants and vest is cool :D

This is a raw performance, there are some small mistakes here and there
but that does nothing! This is a real live performance!

I love the harder live versions of some of the songs e.g
Memories
Echo

Memories and Echo have always been some of my favourite Satriani songs.
Both the studio versions and of course these harder crazy live performances.
They open the songs and give room for more Improvisation, witch is
just what I love about live performances.

Hordes Of Locusts is maybe one of the most heavy songs Satriani
have wrote. I love it when they start of this song.

There are so much I could write about this dvd but I just make it short.
THIS IS THE BEST! THIS IS WHAT I LOVE! RAW ENERGY, FROM A YOUNG
AND CRAZY BAND!

I have not listened to the re-mastered Surfing yet, but it is coming.
And I gone play it LOUD!!!

I've been listening to SWTA again for a week or two now. Isn't it just a brilliant album? The melodies are so strong, the arrangements luscious and the playing just inspired. Satch at his peak, I'd suggest. Love it.
