Echo. That solo is one I've played along to countless times, plus it's in 7/8 timing, which I love, and it mixes his legato lines with one of his best sounds and some really emotional, lyrical playing. Beautiful melody as well.
edit: it's not in 7/8 timing is it? Hmm, it's 5/4, hehe. I'm all messed up today.
Best Satch Solo???

Crushing day is ok, I think. Not one I'd put in his top ten solos tho. It seems a bit too...scripted for me. Like he planned it way ahead of time and kinda practised it do death, you know. I like the solos that sound a little freer, more improvised.
Very cool song, tho, definitely.

Theres sometihng like that of the story behind it
he let stevie v listen to it and he said its cool or something and said, but it sounds like u really worked out what ur doin, and aparently joe didnt like that
and hates playing it live, bad vibes off of it or too many things went wrong when he played it in the past
But it IS an amazing solo!
and thats only a rought remdition of that story i heard it years ago

I really like:
1 Echo's (Live)- Time Machine Album
2. Midnight
3. Crystal Planet - The part where the drums really kick in on the run to the end of the tune.
4. One Robots Dream - Satriani Live
5. Banana Mango 2
6. Rubina (Live)- Tima Machine
7. Every live peromance of Flying in Blue Dream - love the way he does an inro/solo leading to holding the note. Amazing Stuff
8. Tears in the Rain - Blindingly hard to play at first!
9. Slow Down Blues - understated pefection
10. SMF
Vai N Satch are the a great pair and each bring something to the table. Imagine if they both perfromd in the same band, with an amzing vocalist...
J Campetelli - Drums
Mike Keneally - Piano
Dave Weiner - Rythm
Vai and Satch - Leads
Hamm/Sheenan - Bass
Dave Coverdale/Amy from Evanessance? (Phoawer) - Vocals
Thin Lizzy Esq....a couple of albums; my god they would blow everyone away!

i never like crushing day... something about the rhythm guitar tone bugs me to death... my favs are definatly starry night and summmer song!!! those are among the few satch songs i like... i think satch sounds a hundred times better live. his studio tone just bugs me on most of the songs.... but mystical potatoe head groove thing live on G3 live in denver is like the definition of sweet tone for me lol.
