Allman Brothers - Blue Sky.
No, it's not fast, it's not technical, it's completely inside, and theres nothing really particularly scholarly impressive about it.
But man, that is one amazing solo.
(by solo i mean the lead guitar throughout the song, btw)
The Best Guitar Solo I've Ever Heard.

Blues Deluxe - Joe Bonamassa (Blues Deluxe)

Child in Time is my all time favourite songs! It's perhaps greatest vocal performance I've ever heard and the guitar solo is just amazing! My other favourite Blackmore solos are Highway Star (Deep Purple), Lazy (Deep Purple), Stargazer (Rainbow), Gates of Babylon (Rainbow) and Catch the Rainbow (Rainbow).jemgirl wrote:its an oldie its a classicer!!

Yeh EVH solo in beat it is truly one of the best. In fact i remeber some article rating it as the best. only eddie aye !
Yeh my choice would be the solo in Voodoo Child. it really is so powerful and truly has the balls that so many guitar solos lack.
Gary Moore's endin solo in still got the blues is a true peice of guitar art.
The guy who talked about the song reconsider baby probaly suggested the most underated guitar peice and blues peice in history.

I love the solos in Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, which is fy fave song of all time!!
I know that they are not technically the best solos ever, but the song means so much to me, and the solos are so powerful and emotional...we salute you Dave!

Imo great technical skill isn't needed for a great guitar solo. The most important thing is that the solo is listenable and you like it. If it means much to you it's great. Comfortably Numb is perhaps the greatest guitar solo ever.Yorksha_Pud wrote:I love the solos in Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, which is fy fave song of all time!!I know that they are not technically the best solos ever, but the song means so much to me, and the solos are so powerful and emotional...we salute you Dave!
