Stanley Jordan

#1 Post by Real_Confusions » Thu Jun 09, 2005 7:00 am

Does anyone here listen to Stanley Jordan? He really is an amazing guitarist.

Try to download some of his stuff if you can.

When he plays, he taps with both of his hands. He also does some wicked hybrid picking. On his recordings, as far as I know, it's just him playing guitar.

When he plays, it sounds like three guitars playing at once. He is able to play a bassline, rhythm guitar, and solo all at the same time.

Check him out.

Yeah Stanley Jordan is great. I first found out about him when I played midnight at an open-guitar night at a pub...someone told me I played just like Stanley Jordan (who I had never heard of at that point). I checked some of his stuff out and I'm a pretty big fan now.

I have one of his records. It's not musical to me. It's a parlor trick.

I'd like to hear you play, if you could somehow upload some of your stuff.

I got his first record and it was interesting he can really play but then I lost track of him after he put out a George Benson clone album around 1988 I think it was...

I bought his first album because it was produced by Al Di Meola and I'm a big fan of Di Meola. I don't like his music very much but it's just a matter of personal taste. Stanley can play for sure.
