I hope that Steve wins, as well as, Ani. The strengths of their work are more than worthy of the 'Grammy'. But even with something as prestigious as the 'Grammy', you have members that aren't interested in any of the 'other' music being nominated or they will vote for the artist that they have actually heard on tv, radio....And not say for the work. Los Lonely boys are everywhere...More than likely, alot of people will vote for them. But, Steve name is getting around and has done alot of work for the 'Grammy' people, so maybe they'll know a bit more of what he's capable of.

Good luck Steve and Ani!

peace and light

If/when

#5 Post by Birdman » Tue Dec 07, 2004 5:08 pm

If and when he does win, I wonder if when Steve's walking up to accept it, and they have the track playing in the background, someone will/should yell out "That sounds like noise Mr Vai". Hahaha.

It's about @&%**$ time!!!

I just have to say that "Alive in an Ultra World's" version of "Whispering A Prayer" should have been nominated OVER 2 YEARS AGO, PEOPLE!!! I can't believe they even thought of doing it now. He's lucky he had it included on the G3 '03 CD or he wouldn't have even had a chance to use it again. I mean, what was Clapton thinking when he just gave us a teaser of Vai playing the first piece of "Whispering" on the "Crossroads Guitar Festival" DVD? Don't get me wrong, I like Clapton, and I absolutely love Vai, but the Grammy's need to take him seriously instead of waiting for an almost 3 year old song "mature" before they finally nominated it. I guess their ears need time to adjust to the mesmerizing awe of it, but 3 years? 3 YEARS?!?! Okay, just calm down, he has to get this one, he just HAS to. Los Lonely Boys have had a great year, yeah, but they're no Steve Vai!!! Here's to you, Steve. We're all here for ya! :!:
