Help needed to feed specific SV-taste

Dear all,

somehow I lost track of Steve's recorded output after the Alien-album and would like to ask you aficionados, if you could please tell which SV-albums feature quite a few of his more bluesy and playful tunes.

To give you specific hints to what I am longing for: The "Sisters"-track from the "Passion"-album and "The Boy From Seattle" backed by "Tender Surrender" from the "Alien"-album are my all-time-SV-songs. Anything alike or somehow related on any of his other albums?

Please advice.

He hasn't released that many studio albums since ALS, but you should definitely get Fire Garden (1996), no matter what. There aren't a lot of songs like the tracks you mentioned, but there's always one or two tracks on all of his albums that you should like.

If you're just looking for specific songs you might enjoy try:

"Boston Rain Melody"
"Frank"
"Little Alligator"
"Creamsicle Sunset"

I did order Fire Garden right away and will look out for the other tunes you did mention.

Hi,

I agree with Prezidentman's list.

I thought also about "Being with you (in Paris)" but it was recorded live.
It has a bit of bluesy, jazzy touch ...

Steve Vai, in my opinion...is not a bluesman.

he is an alien from a far away planet who love to mess around with his whammy bar.

Eric Clapton is a bluesman.

anyway...who is this Captain Drake Mason guy? (or is he a Luke Mason? ha ha!)
