Classic Rock Magazine are doing a special Steve Vai Issue promoting The Story of Light.

Not surprisingly, I haven't seen any news of this on the site (despite Steve employing a full-time 'Online Marketing Director').

So, here's the link.

It says you get a copy of the new album before the official UK release date. Not sure if this issue of the mag is separate to other issues (they sometimes do special issues). Pretty cool anyway. As usual, there's a 'special interview' that is unavailable elsewhere .....until they release it online a few days later.

Thanks for the information, perhaps you should sign up as the new online marketing director!

Interestingly, I got this email this morning-

If you need to contact us, your order confirmation # is 343232.

B/O Qty Item # Title

Thank you for shopping at http://www.topspinmedia.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

What the hell does it mean? I thought it wasn't out until August?

Probably just means that they haven't received the album yet, so they haven't shipped it yet...

I see the News feed has now been updated with this promo. Three times in fact.

Odd.

Just got this from the publishers....

Unfortunately, the release date for the Classic Rock Steve Vai Edition has been postponed until Tuesday 14th August 2012.

You will now receive your variant edition of Classic Rock featuring the brand new album from Steve Vai on or around the 14th August* rather than 18th July as previously stated. This is still 4 full weeks before the official UK album release date of 18th September.

You have the option to cancel and get your money back, but don't see the point. I'm stilling getting the album a month before everyone else. Lovely.
