Whats going on with Vai Tunes ?
It's great to see a new VaiTunes release, after a 3 month silence.
I was disappointed at first with this track, Amirah, because I already have Surinder Sandhu's album, several years ago. But, I remember that it was very hard to find, so I guess this is great for most fans, to finally get a taste of Steve's collaboration. In fact, this song is my favorite of the several contributions on the album.
I hope we get back to the regular monthly VaiTunes release schedule.

Yes, I now that, I was asking if he's actually heard it before...ocuj wrote:This track is from the cd Saurang Orchestra by Surinder Sandhu.You've actually heard this?? I for one didn't. Well, he probably just didn't have time to work on a new track since the Hendrix tour so he chose a track that not a lot of people are aware of... but yeah, you're basically right, it's not really new....man, I just want a new album so BAAAAAAAD!

Yeah, one nice ballad before Christmas would be really nice, but anything new would be a great little present...fingers crossed.

So far I've been restraining myself to buy them because of the lossy formats (I will never pay for anything under CD-quality - we have to be that stubborn if we want to preserve quality in the music market). And believe me it's been very hard to wait, being a Vai-coholic: I'm dying to hear these tracks. But I won't hear them in degraded sound quality. Steve's music deserves the best.
I think there is a solution here: a lot of Steve's albums are now available in great lossless quality at HDtracks.com. Here, have a look:
https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file ... il&id=5208" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Since some of Steve's music is already available there, why not putting all the VAItunes tracks on sale on this site as well, in glorious lossless formats ? I, for one, will be buying them all six right away as soon as they appear there !

That oughta hold us over.
Seems like you may want to PM me. I'd like to think myself or the Vai.com team can make things better for you.Balls2TheWall wrote:No, but we did get another self portrait of Andy fingering evo.jenarom wrote:So, I guess no new Vaitune for January...

There is a new VaiTunes on it's way and I believe we will all enjoy what's just around the bend.
The latest VaiTunes, "The Bodhi Tree" is now available for download! http://vai.com/vaitunes/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Thank you for your patience-- this an awesome track-- 9 minutes long and truly inspirational. As a side note, I enjoyed visiting the actual "Bodhi Tree Store" in LA to take photos. Steve found the store when he first moved to LA and it's (sadly) closing soon but meant to celebrated now and through Steve's music.
