Steve in new Guitar World with a typo

#1 Post by GuitarAlien7 » Fri May 02, 2008 2:27 pm

I picked up the new Guitar World today. The cover has Yngwie on it and it also says The 50 Fastest Guitarists. Steve is in it. On each guitarist it has their signature song and from what album its from. Well, Steve's signature song is "Passion and Warfare" from the album Passion and Warfare. Obviously, its a typo.

Also, Willjays NPS Clocking Project got a mention in it.

I think that they were just so enamored with all of the songs on Passion and Warfare that they couldn't decide and made the whole album his magnum opus.

Well they meant 'The Riddle' didn't they? I read that Steve got up to 20.8 notes per second in there.

I don't believe those NPS numbers...pretty biased only coming from one source...

I believe near the beginning and it was tapping so its pretty subtle. I was under the impression that the ending solo to Tarus Bulba broke some kind of record when I first listened to it.

anyone can tap 20 nps.

the nps thang in guitar world is alternate picking only. that's why the numbers are so low.

I believe the passage referred to with the whole 20nps thing for steve is at 1:03 and a half seconds on The Riddle where he literally crams a whole load of tapped notes for about a second. It's literally the first .5-1 second of that passage.

I never really cared for fast playing (mention the mindless "Shred On" signature ) though there is one song wich got my attention BECAUSE of the fast playing

Viking Kong by Paul Gilbert/Racer X

That must be one of the fastest guitar solos ever made...

Shred On :guitar
