Support act - Zach

#1 Post by Jonesy038 » Wed Jul 25, 2007 4:01 am

I'm surprised to see a fair amount of Zach bashing in the review threads. I can't help feeling some have overlooked his playing ability. Maybe the comedy element wasn't for some (personally I loved it) BUT the guy could play and then some. A nice guy, made the crowd laugh, and played some excellent stuff - I can't complain at that for a support act, what more could you want. Look forward to seeing him again.

Ha, thanks for that - I was trying to remember what his silly little line was.

I think it helps if, like me, you're a fan of surreal humour. I really 'got it', perhaps some people didn't.

What were the words to that song about a long lost son?!

i cannot belive people wanna slam him.

He was brilliant - he really livend up the audience when he came on at the Apollo. Any one bashing him should show more respect, he was a great entertainer and did what he was supposed to do.

I though he was entertaing too a little nuts but entertaining

But maybe he needs to realise that he's playing to an audience where a large majority won't have heard of him so maybe he's expecting a little too much in the way of audience participation

Excellent support. Shame about the slagging. Met him afterwards and was a true gent.

Keep smiling.

Jim.

The guy can play but his American brand of comedy is nauseating after 5 minutes, also the fact he carries on the act in the meet n greet after the show is a little too much.

American brand of comedy? Personally, I thought it was somewhere between Lee Evans and Norman Wisdom in style! When you say he carries on the 'act' afterwards, how about the possibility that he's just an eccentric bloke full stop? It's not necessarily an act, on the contrary, you couldn't keep up an act like that all the time!

Each to their own, had me in stitches.

I was posivtively impressed by Zack, both as a musician (He can entartain the audience for a good amount of time ALONE on stage) and as a person.

great Zack :P

I agree with jonesy.

Entertaining & i met afterwards and he was cool. Not in your face or anything.

But i do take you point on board about the american humor.

I'm just sat listening/chilling to Zacks album now its great! His performance was great too, well played and his musical tastes so versatile and he was funny, especailly climbing round the venue and the crowd surfin!

Special request - PLEASE, please, post the vid of Zack crowd surfing last night in Dublin that Steve filmed. SOOOO funny!
