I doubt that. The board in the picture is the same as his usual board, except the DS-1/TS-9DX switch. No reason to have two so similar boards.

That is correct the picture was the main pedalboard he used that night. When I took the pictures it was during soundcheck and it was the same board he used that evening during the show with Evo and FLO. I have both a Ds-1 and a tube screamer at home and they both sound great through my Legacy.

I agree. I also have a Legacy and actually prefer the Tube Screamer for solo work.

i had both units ( newer tube screamer with multiple settings) , but i prefer the DS-1. I just made the solos a little fatter than the tube screamer.

Why does Steve use a DS1 or TS9 in front of the amp? Does he use it as well as the legacy's overdrive.
I heard the demo of the legacy on the carvin website and it sounds like it has quite enough drive or is Steve using an overdrive pedal as well on that?
I am confused.

he only uses the ds-1 ( or the tube screamer for that matter,....) for solo lead boosts.
Try setting your ds-1 like so with the lead channel on............
tone - between 9 & 10 o'clock
distortion- 10 oclock
level- 12 oclock
that is from the "live from astoria" settings thanks to pause and slow motion zoom................

I decided to pick up a tube screamer the other day, and let me tell you, I much prefer it to my DS-1 in front of the legacy. The tube screamer seems to keep more of the guitar's natural tone.

Steve said himself that the TS-9 was only used on one of the necks of the triple neck. He still used the DS-1 for his main sound......

I too have swapped to the tubesreamer for a lead boost and much, much, much prefer it's tone - although I don't use the Legacy Amp, I'm on Boogies, but I wouldn't go back.

Also....Steve uses Celestian Greenbacks in his amps, and the ones Carvin sells have Vintage 30's in em. That's a HUGE difference.
and whats up Knight, noticed you are from Vegas too......did it snow where you live? What a trip!
Floods, snow.......this just isnt right lol
are you sure about that he have the proto and all he others amp are different? i asked Thomas and he said that everything are stock , nut the tubes are in high quality
