well, Steve said that 8 strings is too many strings, so production of an 8 string universe probably will never take place. But other than that, I think the concept is fantastic. Kt looks cool, would probably sound amazing.

thanks Kyle, the idea wasn't for production, but what a Vai 8 String might look like. I was screwing around with photoshop a while ago and came up with the idea, and I was curious what other people thought.

oh no, I didn't think that you thought it might be produced. I was just saying Steve is narrow that way :)

from concept to reality, this is truly a great world in which we live, with the support of a bunch of very talented people I was able to bring my idea to reality.

Very cool indeed. I really like the custom covers in the back. You have a unique instrument that you've created from an idea that you had. Congratulations, and relish in your accomplishment. :headbang
How about a name like "Infinity", since an 8 laid sideways represents...infinity......

I would imagine that fretboard would be quite the bugger to phrase. How does she play?

it is one of the best plating guitars I own, Chris spent about 20 hours setting it up, the tone is outstanding!!! I couldn't be more pleased as it plays as good as it looks!!

multiverse stuck as it is described best by wikipedia.... " everything that exists and can exist: the entirety of space, time, matter, and energy" kind of sums it up... "Infinity" would have been a close second though.

and thanks for the nice words, this guitar has been a labor of love.

Who did the build work again? This guitar inspires me to have a custom haha. Btw I'm the same jzbass25 from sevenstring forums that called it a multiverse =P

Well... "who" did the build is a long list, the final assembly/setup was by "Hot Rod Strings" in danbury CT, I coordinated with a lot of people from all over the world for help building different parts.

I have tickets for the Evo experience, I am hoping to get Vai to sign it, then it will be complete in my eyes, and hats off Jzbass for the name, for your addition to this project. This was truly a joint effort. The internet made this project possible, it is hard to wrap your head around what is possible these days!

Amazing, wish Steve would play the 8 string! I'm a huge fan of djent metal, i love that thick bottom tone and the insane chords you can create.
