Re: A Different Kind of Truth-Van Halen

eh, I obviously chose sides here, I 100% agree with what Hagar said.... as for the album.... Tattioo Tattooo........I rather listen to a dog vomit... I haven't listened to the album for what its worth, but I have no intention too after hearing the first single. I did listen to a clip from their live...

Re: all waiting for new vai music

eh, To each his own. I disagree. Yes there is amazing players out there, but they usually play someone else's "same old stuff" and yes, There are some "car salesman" who can play circles around me, probably Steve and e lot of other players,.But in my opinion, Real Illusions: Reflections was one of h...

Re: Best Locking Tuners

For non locking nut guitars, my favorite locking tuner is the schaller locking tuners that you push the string through the top when your done. Can't give you a model or anything tho. Take a trip to their sight to see all they offer. As far as the nut goes, I would recommend replacing a plastic nut, ...

Re: Favorite Classical Composers/Pieces

I like it all bro. Stella by Starlight, Misty, and other Jazz Standards, right on through Mozarts, Bachs and Campellis, all the way to Satches, and Vais, and Batios. As long as I can get a sence of emotion through the music, and its not mindless lyrical content (think nsync/britney spears junk) I ca...

Re: Who Uses Line 6 Spider Amps?

Great idea on the vai face. The picture came in a digital bundle I bought. ( I know, I know, you can google it and find it free, but I support art  ) If you want it, the easiest way is to google "Guitar Artwork" In the images page and download it from that, you can also purchase from Art Ameri...

Re: Steve PRS

Would love to see that, but I don't think it will ever happen. The jem is way to much part of vai signature style and sound for a change i would think. Think about it, aren't we aproaching 25 years now?

Re: Who Uses Line 6 Spider Amps?

Bleh, I hate peavey... We once had a no peavey rider, not that we enforced it, we just wanted to see what we could get away with. I like the line 6 stuff when it comes to a practice session or a get up and go unmiked jam, other than that, meh. I have an axe fx ultra, no comparison in sound quality. ...

Re: DRUGS AND MUSIC

And anyone that thinks it makes them better is a moron. Sure they THINK they are better, they aren't really thinking...or hearing what is actually playing. I don't think any mind altering substance is required for creativity, and if it is, your probably not creative to begin with. Just my opinion on...

Re: TIPS ON PLAYING LIKE STEVE

I don't try to sound like Steve. But I would practice until you can't possibly practice anymore, then practice some more. I would also try getting the Naked Tracks Set, and just jam out, don't try to be Steve, but just jam what your feeling, go with the flow, let your mind wonder. Then add some of t...

Re: Steve's Green Insturment cable

Saw a glimpse of the 2012 G3 pedal board on youtube. I saw the Morley Wah, Jemini, what i believe is a mfc-101 from fractal audio (this is an amazing midi pedal controller for those that may not know.) and what looked like an expression pedal, I couldn't tell for sure, maybe for the axe? Maybe a cry...

Re: Box Set

Hey Mr. Scott! Wouldn't happen to be the same Mr. Scott that did the great Legacy II Demos over on the carvin forum are you? To answer your question, much widespread anger, confusion, and amazement has been witnessed at the lack of box set information. Maybe someone will come along and let us know f...
