there's lots of music, even by talented musicians, that's in 4/4 very true, and im not saying theres anything wrong with it. but if you have a musical genre thats devoted almost entirely to rhythm, wouldnt you break out of 4/4 at least every once in a while? Also it's not devoted entirely to rhythm.
