Re: Billy Sheehan Holy Cow

I saw posters that said they will play here too, I did not take notice when though.

Re: Mr. Big

I hope that Richie Kotzen will play guitar instead of Gilbert. Both would be cool though! Actually, Paul did a sort of G3 show with Ritchie and George Lynch a couple of months ago here in L.A. and after the final jam, there was a little Mr. Big reunion with Billy Sheehan and I wanna say Pat Torpey ...

Re: My New 1992 '62 Reissue Strat

Thanks!
They're stock pickups, and they sound really good if you like
the strat sound. You can get a really nice SRV type of tone out of it.
I won't change the pickups.

Re: Michael Landau

Yeah, I vaguely remember. All I remember is your name, not the actual discussions. But you mean the Petrucci forum at Petrucci's website? Music IS awesome, you are right. Really nice to evolve from listening to Satriani, Petrucci, Vai, YJM etc. to Allen Hinds, Robben Ford, Lee Rittenour, Carl Verhe...

Re: Michael Landau

Landau is probably my favorite player. It's nothing to do with speed or tricks, I just love his feel and his tone. The man is awesome! Word. Me too, I really dig Carl Verheyen and Allen Hinds, but I think Landau is my fav. 6 years ago Steve (Vai) would've been my favorite, but not anymore. How's it...

Re: Anyone check out these videos yet (Vai and Satch)?

I feel sorry for that little girl. Imagine how many hours she must have practiced
every day. And I bet it was her parents forcing her to. Very strict upbringing in Japan, I've heard.
But she can play for sure, no doubt about that!

My New 1992 '62 Reissue Strat

Just got my Strat that I bought off eBay. This baby is feather-light and sounds like nothing else I've played! I'm in love with this guitar, and I can't believe how good the deal was. It looks like it hasn't been played more than a few hours, which gotta be quite rare for a 17 years old guitar. Got ...

Re: Michael Landau

So Steve's tone is 'fucked up'? Do you think he'd continue using a Floyd if it compromised his tone? I'd suggest that the type of amp and the settings you have dialled up are far more significant than the type of metal the bridge is made of. I did not say that, however, his clean tone could be bett...

Re: Michael Landau

That guy doesn't know what he is talking about. They stay in tune as long as you're not dive-bombing. The reason why they use those bridges is because they're sounding way better than the Floyd Rose, which, IMO fucks up your tone, especially on the clean channel. And looks? Well, that's a subjective...
