i must say that burning down the mountain is not only the easiest vai song to my knowledge, it's also just a dang easy song. It never ceases to amaze me that someone with the technical ability and chops that Steve has can still come up with stuff just that simple and bare. Thats part of what makes S...

I think that "Ooo" is the hardest Vai song that i've ever tried to play, but then again, i've only really tried to play stuff off Ultra Zone and Flexable Leftovers for the most part, and some of that stuff on Passion and Warfare is just crazy fast, like that riff in "The Animal", you know the one i ...

I'm a guitarist/bass player thats real into home recording. I've pretty much figured out how to get good guitar tones and such, but on the bass i'm not really sure. i have a similar problem, to all of you, but i don't remember vocals. lots of times i'll just be screwing around on the guitar and come up with some cool riff. The riff will sound familiar but i won't be able to put my finger on where i've heard it before, so i just go around playing that riff every...

upper structure triads

Hey there,
I hear Steve talking about upper structure triads a lot. Apparently he uses them in Greasy Kids Stuff. Can anyone explain to me exactly what an upper structure triad is?
Thanks
