Hetfield without a shadow of a doubt...... Kirk is faster but his sense of melody is magnitudes below James's. Kirk took about 10 lessons from Satch - that was it. I'm just going to quote myself here - it's just easyer. Here's the facts: 1. In 1978 Joe begins a 10-year stint teaching at "Second Hand...

i`ve wondered myself to, why does steve uses the edge trem?
He prefers the EDGE, Joe also favors the EDGE over the Lo Pro....could be nostalgia, could be the "If it's not broken - don't fix it" syndrome....who knows.

Chris Brooks Is the best kept secret in the prog guitar world - the man is insanely good and he is amazingly good at composing melodies as well. Skill and substance without showing off - Chris is just phenomenal and I advise everyone to hear his demos and to pick up his CD from guitar9. Amazing. il...

I used to sleep, eat and dream Maiden. Had all the B sides when they re-released them with Nicko talking on them - like a complete lunatic. :D The X Factor was such a dissapointment and by then I was so maxed out on them anyway that I stopped listening to Maiden all together. Still give them a chanc...

I never miss a Satch gig. Tony is awesome but he is lost in Steve's band - like employing Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera as backing singers for Celine Dion. Get someone who ONLY plays the keyboards and promote Dave to a full second guitarist. I don't know how old you are Evil Betty but I'...

Also cut his hair, start wearing tshirts on stage and normal DCs or something - not goth boots. Let's face it, as one of the most competent and most creative electric guitar players out there he doesn't really need other gimmicks like laser fingers, shiny guitars, dancy moves, 2 amazing guitar playe...

............I got this one song about banging high school girls... just kidding. ROTF Dude, pat yourself on the back as here I am, a grown man (wrong side of 30) , touched by your music enought to: 1. get all your CDs and DVD's 2. try and learn to play the guitar (should have seen my parents ...

Yeah 7's....... I never playied with it yet...... But i think Steve is using this kind of strings right now..... because it can support higher tunes than the 9's or 10's, so probably he can stay "hours and hours"on tune and the bends are more easily  I've got a very different experiance with ...

From what I hear this is a really, really old recording - from his Raising Force days and somehow it got released over 15 years later claiming that is was new.
All I know is that if some old bag poured water on me on purpouse (for whatever reason), I would have bitch slaped her.

Re: Question about Vai's contribution to Whitesnake writing-

So let me know what you think. Is improvising in a solo enough to be given the title of a 'composer'? Well the short answer is No. The long answer is also No. If I come to you with a demo, play it to you and say *Dude, you are a better guitarist than me (or I broke my arm before I could do this pro...

That Jackson is a custom and is quite old. Rusty has been endorsed by Ibanez for almost a year now and you can go here to see the guitar they made him. It's a custom shop jobby that is not available to buy but crosing over to Ibanez is a cool thing. When he signed over to Ibanez they were reluctant ...

It is very unfair of me to lay the blame at Steve's door so I'll change my tune a bit. I blame Dave for deciding he wanted to be a part of the cock rock movement and turning his back on the good old Whitesnake. I also blame Geffen for dragging him down that road as for me 1987 and SOTT were like 199...

You are spot on Rai but I happen to own at least 10 more albums Mike Clink produced and at least 20 with John Kalodner : John Kalodner credit to them and I can't see the major change there so the only person I can blame is Steve. :D And Dave + Adrian for not putting their foot down when the recordin...

uh... so what magazines are we talking about? I stand by my statement that Dex isn't correct with all his points and much of what he has written is based on speculation rather than fact. For example: Copies of the songs were given to Steve and he recorded his bits in his own studio with no supervis...
