But when it becomes the bulk of the music it just becomes unappealing to me-like a corriander curry would! I bring nothing new to the table but bear with my while I tell you a little story. A few years ago, my wife was enjoying a meal with korean friends, clearly enjoying some heavily spiced dish, ...

Yeah it's amazing what fatigue, hunger and dehydration do to your vision! Ah, BBB will be furious, for sure :) Still, Steve's and Our friend here's way of practising is just akin to transe. We humans are not only logical and social animals. We also think in symbols and stories, whose beauty ...

Talent has its limits! On getting back into shape, my 2 cents : - get some very simple exercises and play them slowly, calmly, without rushing - finger placement, phrasing, whatever - don't play too much the first few days (maybe the first week), I'd say 1 or 2h, if you add more, noodle a bit but do...

Re: I'm not alone!

And it wasn't just the music; when I read Steve's interviews he was so positive and humble. He wasn't talking about drugs or acting like an ass like so many rocker's we're doing back then. You never saw Steve intoxicated or demoralizing women. He always carried, and still does, himself with dignity...

Yeah, stumbled on it by chance, saw the first two. First one was great as we got to see some of the courses they had and had a sense of their progression. The second one was just a conducting context.

Apparently, they will return to that format next week.

Why make it limited ?
'Cause the red ink of the booklet is actually Steve's blood.

Sorry guys, just pretend I never said anything.

Moving on, now.

But as you pointed out, it's quite impossible to have Steve's :)

But why would you want to sound like Steve Vai anyway? Tones are like voices. Why try and copy someone else's when you can sound like yourself? (You save a lot of money this way, too :D.) Because your own voice doesn't appear ex-nihilo, tone-wise or else. Children learn from the world through imita...

I personally have a Pod X3 and hugely stink at designing or reproducing tones. Seriously. I know each products has its idiosyncracies and its official forum, but I know I would be interested in what other people come up with and in the process. This is the Vai forum, so I'd sure like to read about p...

Re: State of mind!

Modes are really just a state of mind. Accept the names, so learn the names by writing them down by hand a couple of times then just focus on the fact that all of the modes are the same scale! Just starting and ending on a different note. Stop thinking of shapes [even though that can be helpful som...
