Re: Why 'Amazing Grace'?

Well, I am far from being religious and I'm not American either. However, I love Amazing Grace. Not the lyrics, but the song. Especially if it's a talented singer performing it. One of my guilty little pleasures, I guess.

Re: Flexable Remastared

However, there is some truth to this. In my opinion Steve's worst enemy is his own perfection. In his continuing pursuit to become ever better, and to improve the music he has already recorded, sometimes he ends up destroying the wonderful ideas and inspirations that made it so interesting in the fi...

Instead of all of us finding time to read the book, maybe you could give a brief summary.

Zappa also worked with both Ringo Starr, John Lennon (and Yoko Ono). Check out 200 Motels and Playground Psychotics respectively.

Congratulations. Can you tell the rest of us something about it? Otherwise it is rather useless to us, and I think a lot if people want to learn exactly what the differences are.

Re: Are the Beatles overrated ?

Taste. It's all about taste. I'll admit that they have been sanctified a bit too much, but hey, that happens with every musician who dies. And I think you are right, they did play simple lalala rock, however, later on they also did some really cool stuff. Personally, I prefer Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Ro...

Re: Video: Steve Vai - Beekeeper!

People see them as a nuisance. Well what would you do if you perceived someone was attacking you/your home/your family? Thats what they are doing. I believe you are thinking about wasps. But the explanation remains the same, leave them be, and they'll get enough of your strawberry marmalade or what...

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread

For clarification, I'm suggesting that one CD of piano interpretations of Steve's music is interesting and valuable whereas two is just filling in the box set space- not what I'd expect from Steve-ie. repeating himself. A Tibetan Nose flute interpretation would be more in keeping with his ethos.[/c...

That argument just might work on Steve. Or try Joe, seeing as it is kind of his fault that you're in this predicament.. sort of.
