i also would love to see the video! And no, I won´t buy the guitar world issue. I´m from germany, I bought the 30 hours workout. And it took LOTS of time until it was here...no, thank you! Try to look for it either at the airport or at the trainstation. I get mine from a bookstore at the trainstati...

Well tubes are the best, transisters are for noobs! Funny, I actually think comments like that are for noobs! (I won't even bother going over the countless guitarist through time who have used solid state amps and have gotten great tones from them) You can have a great sounding amp and still...

If you're looking for PG tone, buy a tube amp and turn up the gain on the drive channel. Add a lot of mid and high range and voila, there you go. I have both the TS 808 and an old DS1 from the 80's. The TS is my personal favourite, because it can give a very nice crunch on the clean channel and at t...

Considering that this and the "New Legacy" threads are popular, I'd think Mikey would have commented by now if he was at liberty to. lol, i´m sure he is, this is just so unnecessary... NOT, since I started the thread I'm reading every post that has been posted. All of YOUR posts say that this threa...

Hmm, I'm not guite sure, because usually acoustic guitars go directly into the desk/ mixer.

Hm I don't think so, simply because then the amp would not be positioned between Steve's cabs.
I'm not quite sure if this is a Fender amp. Might be one of the Carvins that Joe Walsh uses as well.

Steve with a new amp?

Look at this picture:
http://www.vai.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22817

Notice the combo between the two 4x12 cabs. I suppose that Steve uses the amp rather then one of the other musicians. But what for?
Any ideas?
Jeroen, please help.

Wah Pedal - Budda Wah, Vox Wah, or an RMC Wah. I've owned both the classic crybaby and the crybaby 535Q, and both are horrible sounding from stock. They are way too piercing and trebley, not very smooth and articulate. Morley pedals are reknowned for their unreliability Really? Never heard that bef...

i think he uses them to boost up the amp channel. it will add more character and better response. Yup +2 Most probably he uses them as boosts on the drive channel. However last month I met Marcus Deml, who is really an amazing guitarist( just youtube him) and he told me, that he very often uses a D...

That's really hilarious!
Just imagine you'd have to learn the clarinet part. You could lock yourself in a room and throw the key away :)
Incredible musicianship!

Yeah great pics of a truly gifted guitarist.
I'm just wondering, why he is not playing his signature model? The guitar on the pix is his previous Ibanez model.

Hey seljer,
thanx for your reply. I had the same concerns like you about the Dimarzios. The SD '59 and a Jeff Beck seem to be a common and favored option. I'll probably go with them or maybe a Pearly Gates in the neck.

Replacing stock pickups on Ibz Sz320

Three weeks ago I bought a white Ibanez Sz 320 and I'm very pleased with this wonderful guitar. Since I have been playing my two Jems and several modified RG's for the last 15 years ,it took some time to adept to the different neck and overall feel of the guitar, now i love her. There's just one thin...

Steve has stopped using the DS-1 altogether and is now using the Ibanez Jemini Prototype. From memory though, while Steve has used a Keeley-modded DS-1 in the past him most recent DS-1s were unmodded. Mikey vai.com Will the Jemini pedal be his main distortion (like in front of a clean channel) or w...
