I used to like noise gates but at this time I like the pure tone with some hum, even the fender stratocaster hum! Noise gates eat your sound. I think Vai tries to minimize the use... Hi,
Steve most probably uses the noise gate from his tc g-force,which in my opinion is more efficient than the hush noisereduction.

hi,
dont get fooled by the hype the press is making about this product.i bought it for home use and i didnt like it at all!i mainly play marshalls(dsl 100 and slp) but thats just for gigging.I had the podxt pro for recording at home and it blows the vox any day!Go and test it.

The main reason i got mine was because i do constant gigging and need a whole array of sounds at the touch of a button and plus they are alot better to taked to gigs than some of your other amps (because its solid state you don't need to worry about tubes and such). Thanx for your reply.I'm looking for a unit with,chorus,flange,phase,delay,verb,noisegate and compressor.Meanwhile I tested some units and i'll have to go for the gmajor.Its still pretty expensive but offers the most.Plus its the only unit that can switch channels of an amp!
