They are really cool (though I didn't like theri late stuff so much, more what they did up to and including Wish You Were Here (though I haven't heard animals, so I don't know about that one.)

Hey, Eric said that 12 years ago, a lot may have changed since then. I mean, EC says that to him, singing is really important (I've heard him say it in a talk about his music.) The only actual Steve Vai album which had come out then was P&W which is largely instrumental. Maybe EC likes Fire Garden, ...

Well, just to state the obvious, Steve likes Frank Zappa a lot. (and is that an understatement?)

Just so long as its not total guitar, I don't mind so much. That magazine is absolutely pants. Its really thin, has loads of ads, is still too expensive and caters for the rubbishy nu metal pop crowd.

The extremist. He said that he sort of retreated into a hole for a few years to make the 'classic satch album' or somethin along those lines, and its true, its definitely my favourite. There are so many excellent and diverse songs on there.

Here's the problem: There are real musicians, and there are fleetingly popular musicians (sorry to simplify things.) Here's an example of a real musician: Steve Vai. He has a devoted fan base who buy his every album and admire him loads. Here's an example of one of those fans: Me. Quite apart from m...

When he said Ibanez H series at the start of his post, he meant the ESP H series (in case you were confused). I own a ltd H302, and it sounds absolutely great. To tell the truth, I am absolutely fine with two pickups (and as you said, if you are keeping your ibanez, you could use that for the single...

Who was commenting on Rainbow? Do you mean early raimbow like Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Rainbow Rising, or do you mean post Ronnie James Dio Rainbow, when they sold out completely and just wrote pop metal? But for Purple and the first half of Rainbow, I vote for Ritche. He was my favourite Bri...

Looking on Steve's section about his different bands, he said something about the mangine/keneally/bynoe (weiner as well I suppose) band like "all the problems I've had with bands were lifted away from me once I was gifted with this set of musicians." I suppose he changed them for a similar reason t...

Yes, definitely buy an album by Chroma Key. Also, buy an album called OSI, Office of Strategic Influence. Its sort of like chroma key, but not so dreamy or ambient. It is an amazing album, though - a collaboration between Kevin Moore (chroma key) Mike Portnoy (dream theater) and Jim Matheos (fates w...
