From the Birmingham show, after Steve was held up in customs...

"I had to convince customs I wasn't Tommy Lee! I said I can't be Tommy Lee: I have better taste in women and a bigger penis!"

*big laugh from the audience*

"Hey, one out of two isn't bad!"

Cheers TRIDS, that's great. :D The other thing I've discovered is that you can get a lefty Jem custom made (with Floyd Rose, DiMarzio Evos, etc) for about £300 more than you can buy righty Jems off the shelf for! To custom build the body & neck is about £800, then + hardware, pickups, tuners, etc an...

Sustainer Circuit Question

Hi guys - I need your help! I've recently been given a bit of money for my AS results, and am looking to buy a new guitar. Obviously I'd love a Jem, but I'm left handed...enough said! My plan is to buy a £250 Ibanez: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ibanez-rg-370dxl/11087 I know it's quite cheap,...

$30/hr doesn't sound that much too me, but as mentioned above, you can always shop around....look in local music shop windows, etc. One bit of advice from me - in the beginning lessons, don't let the teacher teach him scales. Chords are fine, but scales are the most mind-numbingly boring thing for a...

Vai Backing Tracks

Hi everyone, Does anybody know what backing tracks exist out there which are Steve's actual recordings with the lead guitar taken off? I've searched websites & bought a CD off eBay of Vai backing tracks, but they're all low-quality MIDI files, and some even cut off half way through! I know that some...

Steve signed my Les Paul in Birmingham on Thursday on the rear plastic cover...I stuck some transparant plastic on it, which works a treat...plus, you can always remove it, as it doesn't pull the ink off. It doesn't look amazing, but it protects the signature perminantly. (P.S. The pen exploded!) ht...

I too paid for an EVO ticket, & travelled 2+ hours from Bristol...so including parking & fuel, the day cost me the best part of £200. Plus, I had an aftershow pass that I never got to use because of the resheduling... ...so I must admit to being frustrated when I had to sit in my car in the local NC...

Although I've ordered the special edition from Vai.com, I made a point tonight of driving 10 miles to the local shopping centre & buying myself a copy of ST off the shelf...making the journey to pick up a new release (especially one of Steve's albums) is incredibly important to me. What an amazing a...

Steve's MySpace

This may be old news, but 2 tracks from Sound Theories are up on Steve's Official Myspace...."For the Love of God" and "The Murder".

I'm holding off listening until the release, so I can experience them in all their high bit-rate glory! :D

Dear Steve, I just wanted to write and say Happy Birthday! Hope you have a brilliant day - don't party too hard! It was so fantastic to meet you at the London Guitar Show last month - I've laquered my guitar backing plate (which you kindly signed for me) so that your signature doesn't rub off...
