They do play it!

At the Birmingham EVO last year, someone asked "How good are your kids at the guitar?"

He replied: "My kids don't play guitar. They play guitar hero."

So yeah, they do! :P Classic! :D

I have a Marshall Jackhammer pedal, and to be honest, I'm not overly impressed by it. It makes the tone sound very....forced? I dunno, it just makes everything sound a little cheap.

I suggest the Ibanez Tubescreamer or the Boss OD-1 - much better pedals! :D

Getting one of those. I might also have a Z-Vex fuzz factory installed (like Matt Bellamy of Muse), so that I can use the pitch oscillation function. I'm also working on a project with the designer to dissassemble a tuner, and wire that in so that the LCD display is on the top edge of the guitar. Bu...

Woash!! Wow, I didn't know my question about a custom built guitar would spark such a pointless argument!

ANYWAY  Lets try to stay on topic now...

Does anybody know any other snazzy features which I don't know about that I could include in my guitar?

Joe Satriani & Paul Gilbert

Hi folks, I've bought a "Club Joe" ticket (basically the equivalent of an EVO Experience) for one of Satriani's shows next year. I was so happy to find out that Paul Gilbert is supporting him - my dad and I travelled the 150+ miles from Bristol to Leeds to see him earlier this year and he was amazin...

Lefty Jem Custom

Hi folks, Being a lefty player I've often been annoyed that I can't play an Ibanez Jem. So... ...I've saved up enough money over the years so that now I'm able to have one custom built. :D Do any of you have any suggestions as to things to include in the design to make it that little more rocking (i...

Yes. Buy "Live at the Acropolis". It's perhaps the most awe inspiring album I own - listen especially to the live versions of "Santorini" and "Reflections of Passion" from that album. Both are absolutely beautiful.

Yanni

Hi guys,

I was just wondering whether any folks here liked Yanni? I myself am a huge fan, but I know he's not that highly regarded in the music world (very unjustly, in my opinion).

Does anybody here love his music as much as I do?

Joe

I don't think it's what you said. I think that it's some pedal or something... hear by yourself: Alien Love Secrets - Tender surrender - 3:47-3:55 thanks anyway To me, that sounds like a cross-fade. What I mean is, Steve played the riff on both an overdriven and clean guitar, and then faded the ove...

Does the tube power the clean channel also, or is it just the Overdrive?

Hey - thanks for the advice, greatly appreciated.

I googled the 12AX7. It looks like 2 chip-board thingies with one tube in it. Do I need to replace just the tube, or the entire chip board?

My Marshalls

Hi folks, Just need a bit of advice with regard to my amps - I've got a Marshall Valvestate 2000 Full Stack. The OD1 channel went very "tinny" a year or so after I bought the amp - like, no bottom or mids, just a scratchy treble. In the last couple of months, I've noticed my OD2 starting to go the s...

Hi guys, I've recently been writing an orchestral song, and I've notated out all of the parts in Sibelius (sounds a lot like the Finale software that Vai & co used for Sound Theories). I record using Cubase SL, and what I've been doing is exporting the parts as MIDI files, then playing those through...
