It can get extremely boring when you rehearse a song over and over again, especially the lead parts.. until you step out in front of a living, breathing audience :) .

Take a familiar classical symphony and play the lead part. They'll be thinking "Ummm, ok..." then shock them by adding bass and rhythem voicings.

Boss Gt-8, Gt-6 vs. single pedals

Hi, Are there any Boss Gt users in the house? I've heard mixed reviews about both the Gt6 and the Gt8 compared to using single effects pedals but have been considering to buy one for some time now -- you should see the mess of pedals and cables in my room :?. What are your thoughts on multi effects ...

""I'm 100% convinced about the Legacy's nice tone, but I wouldn't buy it for the same reason I wouldn't buy a signature guitar: it's clearly the artist's gear, and I don't want to be a copy of that person. If there was an amp exactly the same 'cept for the name, I'd probably consider it. Call me stu...

I have a few vague memories of guitar lessons through junior high/high school, until my 3rd guitar teacher eventually refused to give me more than three lessons because I played "incorrectly"; left-handed guitar with strings setup upside down (e.g. low E at the bottom). :? However, before I got my f...

Guiotar_chicken, thanks, I'll look into that Tonebone pedal. I messed around with another Tonebone pedal a few months ago and loved the way it sounded. Never heard of the trimode, but it sounds exactly like the box I'm looking for (and then some). J.Arledge, thanks for the suggestions. I'm on a pret...

Distortion pedal options..

Current setup: Highway Strat -- WH1,CS3,Tremonti Power Wah, DE7 -- Princeton 650 DSP. I'm not a big fan of my amp's distortion chanel. It's really thin, no balls. I'm looking for a thick, loud, versatile pedal a la the MXR Doubleshot -- preferably with two overdriven/distorted chanels (rythem/lead)....

Great thread. I hope he finds the time to shed some light on the subject. After seeing the Astoria DVD, my guess would be that within the spaceous, ambient realm a specific song sets, Steve enters freely and subconscously -- which can only be attained by mastering the song and knowing it inside and ...

 There's a vivid image forming.. A young Steve Vai.. not yet the virtuoso.. wide awake in the wee hours of night.. practicing furiously.. determination.. patience.. dedication.. frustration.. you could slice the passion and emotion in that bedroom during those long hours with a knife.. And lo...

Yeah, it seems like Cubase LE will be more than enough.. although my computer's being an a--hole and keeps freezing up every ten minutes. Thanks again, "technology". Looks like I won't be getting anywhere without a new PC with at least 2Ghz. Think I'll just sell all of my recording gear and b...
