Dyin' Day (has Steve ever played that song live?) I can't recall ever hearing it live, but I can't understand why he doesn't play it more often. Such a sublime melody, and the openning riff is killer! Yes it's like there's theese different melodies that compliment each other in the greatest way. I ...

My favorites are Ladies Nite in Buffalo and Big Trouble. It's funny to hear how Steve's playing has changed over the years, but hearing the old guitarwork on Eat Em and Smile it still sound so distintively Steve Vai.

Where is it exactly that theese things about Steve and Billy has been written? Is it on this forum? I personally have'nt read about any slagging off here on vai.com, I do never the less consider gossip of this sort to be viscious, and just the fact that Steve felt he had to deny it, shows the seriou...

Steve was born and raised in New York. Italian parents, sure, but born in the States..... 8) At the EVO experience I noticed that he still has that distinct New York accent, despite the fact that he has been living in California for so many years. Funny how some people keep their accent no matter h...

Big Bad Bill wrote:You see, Mahler...another composer I find a bit dull with his huge chords moving harmonically around. It's too smooth. Gimme some contrapuntal stuff and I'm happy!
I'm not to fond of the late romantic period either, I prefer the older stuff. But Steve spoke really passionate about it.

at the EvO experience i Copenhagen 2005, Steve told us that he (in that period) mainly listened to Tom Waits and Gustav Mahler. I'ts probably something different at the moment.

I've just listened to the MIDI file, and I must say that there are only a few similarities between the two tunes. The first two chords are more or less the same, but after that the chord structure is fairly different from FTLOG. The theme has only very few similarities with Steve's tune, but the bas...

Listening to Steve in interviews he's does seem a really cool laidback guy and a good articulate conversationalist, so I would expect he's like that face to face. The thing that facinates me about this thread is I don't understand why people get nervous, anxious or excited when meeting people like ...

When I was to meet Steve, I was very anxious because I had been a fan of his music for 12-15 years at that point, and when you look up to a person as an artist, and you're about to meet him in real life, you really want to like him as a person too. But I did'nt have anything to worry about, because ...

Both concert where absolutely amazing, and an experience I'll never forget. How sad it is that Steve is'nt touring in Scandinavia this time.

Re: Eastern Europe

Why there's no gig in there? :/ There will be 2 shows in Germany... It's irritating and not fair... I can understand your frustration. For all us fans in Scandinavia there is no gigs whatsoever, whereas on the last tour there was 5! I don't know why this is, maybe the crew did'nt think that the Sca...

Vai is the master and he has more feeling in his pinky finger than we have in both our hands but Vai does have no talent... he is the best guitar player but he ahd to practice A TON to get as good as he is. Go to the interview at ultimate-guitar.com, Vai even says it himself that he got no talent a...
