1. Put a capo or physically press down on first fret 2. Press down on last fret, same string 3. Now look under 7th Fret, there should be just enough space to slide a playing card, If you like your neck set-up a little on the "Flat" side, you can take it untill there is no "daylight" under the 7th f...

Measuring/adjusting neck relief...(Prestige, JS 1200)
I think my neck may be a little too straight which may be the culprit behind the buzz when my action is very low...the action is a lot higher at the higher frets than the lower...Do I also need to adjust the nut height? I'm no expert though...how do you measure and adjust the neck relief anyways?

Re: JS 1200 trem and action maintenance etc...
Hey guys, I have my action low at around 2mm low side and 1.8 mm high side...From what I've read at Ibanez Rules, this shouldn't be too much of a problem, but I've noticed when I do any kind of aggressive vibrato, the strings 'clank' together...they shouldn't be touching each other at all should th...

box shapes are irrelavent when talking about modes ;-) And why is that? :? I think box shapes are quite usefull when learning modes. True, they are only variations on the beginning note of the "mother" major, harmonic minor or melodic minor scales, but they still can help you visualize the fingerin...

If your looking for vai/gilbert/dream theater tone. Check out a Marshall TSL60 head. Cheaper than a JSX and with a Boss ds1 in front of it you can get a good range of tones vintage & modern. The only thing is, it wont do death metal or nu metal without a good EQ pedal eg MXR Kerry king. Why would y...

We all realize that Yngwie is a great guitarist, BUT, it's all about THE SONGS man, & without them, you're either lost in redundancy, &/or, there's an inconsistency in the quality of the compositions. At least that's what I think. :? As music lovers we listen to SONGS, that's how it's been, that's ...

all these signatures is overpriced as hell, and they are of lesser quality then the Artists own models (except the Attitude Basses, the first one that I have tried with the best quality taht I sawed, XD). And of course, you can put the things on a table here(in BR): should I buy a car or a JEM? And...

As a pre-requisite to learning For the Love of God you must do the following: 1. Wander the desert for 15 years living on only rotten carrot juice. 2. Loose all your immediate family in a plane crash which landed on your apartment building. 3. Live with the wolves of the New England forests for 12-...
