Re: Vai.com News | Orianthi featuring Steve Vai:

My opinion: - Orianthi's playing is at most "regular". She is a media fade, not a valid new "guitar hero" - The song sound like something Steve would write for a lesser known video game or something. All the "Vai-isms" are there, except the memorable parts. - Having said that, it is awesome to see S...

Re: "Live In Minneapolis: Where The WIld Things Are" DVD REVIEWS

I waited for the bluray, and I got it last friday. So, I made myself unavailable for the whole saturday afternoon, and watched the whole thing on my lovely new home theather system. Here's my review. Cover / case: it is awesome! Great, great quality booklet, and the case itself has a cool layout. Th...

Well, more than a show review, I'll try to tell you shortly about our great overall experience with the Vai crew yesterday (nov 10th), especially with the great Mikey! Quick background: My girlfriend is Fancy Music's (local Ibanez distributor) Marketing Manager, and I, as a total Ibanez freak and ki...

I translated, but not to an audience, just to organize things. I'll write the interviews in spanish, and quite frankly, I have no time to do them in english, but I'll post the links anyway...online translators are not perfect, but the basic ideas are understood ;)

My insider G3 experience

Well last night was the last show of the southamerican G3 tour. I was lucky not only to meet Steve and other players, but actually helped in the production of an autograph session. Saturday night I went to the hotel, where I met Steve. I had my PAW CD and tab book, both really weathered. I thanked h...

I think it's a great idea!

I once read an interview where Steve said he used to videotape himself playing along with his albums to facilitate the transcriber's job. Now THAT I would like to see!!! Mr. Vai just sitting there playing, no fancy LEDs, Lasers, chrome paint or anything, just sheer power!

I understand it's hard to do a news page update, with all the web stuff involved, but posting a few lines on the forum takes seconds. I'm sure these guys at least check their e-mails constantly, and posting a small 'hi, were in X city, had a great show' or something would take less time than replyin...

I'm confused about Archives Vol.3 and 4

Hi, I'm a little confused, it says on the news page that there is (or was recently) a listening party to Vol 3, soon to be in stores. At the same time, the merchandise section has Vol.3 and 4 as a combo or as part of the box. Mi doubt is...if Archives 3 is just being advertised, how is it the Vol.4 ...

I guess Satch used Steve's equipment on that jam, but on the road he uses an unmodded japanese DS-1, and a Marshall 30th Anniversary 6100 head, among other things

If they called Limited IMPORT there would be anything odd.

Explanation? marketing plan.

At least they are not charging 'limited model' price

They are not surplus, stored or whatever. The FP is in full production for the worldwide market. The only special thing is the extra signed backplate. What a lame 15th anniversary celebration :( . If they're not surplus, but actually NEW production, why don't they have the AANJ? :? that's standard ...
