Steve Vai is one of the best players in the world. I have been listen to him since small green men. Ofcourse some stuff is about taste but none can say hes not a good musician. :wink:

buy a better soundcard!
Jul@ is a great sounding cheap card from egosys.
Or try an m-audio card.
Soundblaster are mostly for gamers and far to noisy and A/D is not that good for mixing and recording, but they are ok for playback though.
