Re: How to reproduce this beautiful sound in Steve Vai video?

wdkwang I think you need a seven string to reproduce the sound at 5:15 in the video. Steve is playing his multi color 7 string there that was burn't to resemble Zappa's strat he got from Hendrix. He hits the low b string several times in that. I am guessing this is what you hear. Though you can get ...

I don't often post here but my 2 cents, I think Steve is making a wise decision. To clarify, "The Mother Ship" was built around analog technology and as we all know Steve is now moving into the digital domain. In 10 years it could be hard to sell any analog based studio. A sad time indeed as we watc...

How about something with Billy and you doing harmony guitar and bass solos again (like Shy Boy)? That would be cool. You know what I'm sayin'? YO.

I believe the "numbered natural finish guitar" was a peavey. At least I remember it having a peavey neck on it in GFPM when "A little ain't enough" came out.

Upon further listening to UZ I agree, there is alot more Legacy on there than I remembered. The first, G3 live disc tone, definately sings on FTLG. It is a great tone. I'm still not sure which of his tones I like best but his DLR records stick out in my mind. P&W is my favorite record of his but the...

But I don't dislike his current sound, just prefer the old more. I have a Legacy Head and loved it until I got my Marshall fixed. I thi...

Hello this is my first post. The dude who said it was in Houston at the Hard Rock is correct. I remember the first time I went to the hardrock it was the coolest piece they had in about Feb 1996. I imagine it is part of their revolving collection and is now in another city. I sat right under it and ...
