the only bad thing i've noticed with dimarzio cliplocks is that the older straps were able to be put shorter :(, i'm only small so i like my guitar high up to play fast. And theres only one size screw available now which sucks.

This should really be under Ibanez and other guitars, but oh well the mods can move it....

Anyway to answer your question, take your guitar to a local guitar tech or a shop, and they should be able to tell you what width or whatever you need (i dont really know sorry).

Yes the JEM555 is the worst jem, It's the trem that lets the guitar down. In my opinion, you should try it out before buying it which you should do whenever you buy something, just to be sure.

Hmm they still have the 1550 on the ibanez website, on the UK section. Anyway check www.ibanezrules.com and there is a guide that tells you what year the ibanez was made/where it was made etc. Hope this helps :).

Btw, welcome to the forum.

If the strings are getting 'cut' by the trem, its a saddle problem which is that the Saddles which the strings slide over have a rough edge on them. Take your guitar to a qualified guitar tech and he will be able to sort it out for you .
