The Grammy's go for the name of the group/artist half the time. I hope Metallica doesn't win. You can't mess with the original version of "Ectasy" and the Met boys sure did. The tone alone sounds like crap. Steve lost Whispering a Prayer to the beach bum Brian Wilson's horrible mix of sounds. Steve!...

Vai's ALS album is near the very top of my list. So a 3 piece recording would be spectacular. The rhythm guitar work stands out so well. I know this is hard for Steve, but the less tweaking, the better. ALS on steroids!

I could have had 20th row main floor tickets for the Minneapolis show, (my hometown) but my job stood in the way. Boo-hoo for me.

I've heard "Summer Song" on a classic rock station a few times this year. Years ago, the NHL All Star game had "One Big Rush" playing as the players were introduced. A hard rock station in my town used to have Steve and Joe's music playing every weekday in the background as the morning show guys tal...

I remember going to the '96 G3. He opened his set with "There's A Fire In The House". What a great song for that! I love that cd. Even the tracks like "Deepness". There is a ton of music on that cd.

X -Mas present years ago: a black CORT electric guitar ordered from a SEARS catalog of all places. I thought my Dad bought me a Kramer guitar because we went to a shop in November of that year and I told him "That's all I want!" "You never have to buy me another present again." I later learned the g...

A great day for me. Nothing guitar-related yet though!? Went in to work for some overtime $$$ and to a party with some good people. Where are the other "777" moniker names today on this thread???

"TIME" guitar solo by Pink Floyd

Who else loves this solo!? I've heard of guitars singing and crying, but never "moaning" like this. Dave's note selection is superb.
