Someone always goes and gives the name away... :( Of course people can hunt and find the answer for themselves, but why not let them? Some fans enjoy not knowing for sure... And Buckethead isn't Slash's replacement. Buckethead is another guitarist in the new Guns 'n Roses, a band that Slash left ove...

There are a BUNCH of cool Vai posters on eBay right now including one very cool one I've never seen before. I guess it's time to actually bid on something. :)

I don't know why everybody is saying Philip is no Billy Sheehan... only Billy Sheehan IS a Billy Sheehan. Philip is a Philip Bynoe, a different but amazing bassist in his own right. Sure, he's no John Stamos, but he's pretty cool.

Mike was on noneradio.com last night playing some of his upcoming record, and I don't think it's coming out on Favored Nations. Didn't Mike just start his own Exowax label recently?

This guitar is incredible -- congratulations to the company that made it (Emerald Guitars)! I hope we do get to see Steve using it someday even if only in a photo shoot. That's the kind of guitar that would stop anyone in their tracks -- whether or not they know Steve Vai -- and make them STARE at t...

I agree! Philip is great, and a monster bassist. I'm not sure what he's doing these days musically but I heard he's playing with Kevin Eubanks (of The Tonight Show) in Kevin's band around Los Angeles. Philip getting the Tonight Show bass gig would be sweeeet...

I was listening to None Radio this morning (noneradio.com, hosted by MIKE KENEALLY and RICH PIKE, both of whom have worked for Vai), and they played THREE tracks from the new Bumblefoot record in the show, plus another track from "Uncool." Mike said on the air that they're going to try to get Ron in...

The first, self-titled Blue Murder record is awesome, or at least that's how I remember it now, years later. Carmine Appice on drums and Tony Franklin on bass... This, or "Slide It In" from Whitesnake, are nice jumping-in points if you're looking to expose yourself to some John Sykes.

"Burning Organ" by Paul Gilbert is a GREAT album, as is "Aliigator Farm." His website is also really sweet.

Mike Keneally on None Radio

Cool, new message boards at Vai.com. :) Has anyone else been listening to this? (noneradio.com) Mike Keneally (who played guitar with Frank Zappa before he played with Steve Vai, and has a great catalog of solo records too) and Rich Pike are hosting a radio show Monday nights. It starts late at nigh...
