Those were slapped together by Steve and his then-tech Elwood (I believe) to help with the hole left by the theft of a bunch of his guitars back in the day (like the Steve Eye one, since recovered, etc.) They're assembled from Performance Guitar parts, and along with the Green Meanie, helped define ...

Welcome aboard...

By your question, do you mean the pivot points?
If so, then yes, they're all 2-point.

If I've missed the point (pun unintentional...) please elaborate.

Sure thing.
And, DiMarzio does make those covers in blue, green, pink, violet, red and yellow (as well as standard black, white, creme, aged white, and (pale) mint green)...
Either green or yellow would work with your guitar - being a 777DY, it's got green knobs (unless it's not stock).

Those pickup covers are DiMarzio (as is the pickup under it =]) and are still available from them... ... However... they're really not the same colour any longer. In fact, I'm sure there was a fair bit of variation in them in terms of batches. The pigment must have varied. Look for pics of the lates...

The springs in the back are adjusted according to the string gauge / tension properties to balance the Edge/LoPro bridge in its correct neutral position, so the action need not be affected in that way by string gauge.
Most of Vai's instruments are standard tuning/concert pitch.

You'll find no shortage of info around these parts... It will be helpful if you'd mention the types of things you want to know, to help pare down the info to the most useful and relevant to what you want. Intricacies... lots - ask away. Frets 21-24 are scalloped, yes indeed. What model year is the o...

Way in the background on the right, there's a chrome-topped Jem that may be one of the Bad Horsey prototypes... or maybe one of the early production ones...

One of the amp 'models' is a complete bypass of the amp model section, so you can use the effects by themselves - you can, of course, also turn off the speaker cabinet simulation.

That's not acoustic, it's clean electric. As for getting that type of sound, it's most likely the 'in-between' pickup setting - it's fairly bright, so it's probably the middle/middle-side of bridge pickup position on the 5-way... and, if he was using a Legacy, it was probably a gainy sound, but with...

If I'm not mistaken, I think Steve and then-tech Elwood had to throw together a bunch of instruments from Performance parts to stand in for the batch of guitars stolen (including the Jackson Steve-Eye yellow soloist [since-recovered] and a bunch of others). I think one of the Performance parts guita...

You're welcome... As for patches - I use my ears and just dig in there, creating my own. I sifted through the presets and found some tones that were leaning in the right direction, and either noted certain elements of them and started from there, or found my own way to them again from a blank preset...
