Um... no. It's not. There is a reason why an mBox is $450 and an HD rig is around 25K.

Here is a link to the Berklee Press Production page. I have the Pro Tools for the Home studio book and it's not bad, but not too extensive.

Check out this list from amazon about recording books. I'd recommend Sound Reinforcement book for sure.

Nuno's latest album is called "Population One." It's no longer Mouring Widows.. this is something different. Very strong songwriting. An outstanding album. Buy it if you have the means. Nuno has been using Hughes & Kettner Triamps and Marshall Heads for the last 8 years or so. Vai's old bassist, Phi...

Zakk is strong as an ox, but it's not like he's playing in standard tuning with a 60 gauge E string. I don't know much BLS stuff, but he's at least playing in Drop C, possibly lower.

They are MUCH cheaper than $5k in the US. A brand new Eclipse will run you 2K and you can get an old H3000 for $800-1000.

Glynn, I apologize if I said anything that you took personally.

My last comment about the Mac & PT, was not refering to the original posters specific purchase, but was intended as more of a general statement. I see that some clarification was necessary, and I'm glad it has been cleared up.

Glynn,

Check again, when I posted he said nothing about already having a computer. The initial reply recommended a PC, and I simply said, if you're gong to buy a new computer, consider a Mac. Where is the harm in that?

Glynn... If you were replying to Bosna's remark, why did you quote me? I agree with you. As in just about everything in life, there is more than one way to get good quality results. To be so narrowminded is only hurting yourself. I always suggest Mac's to people because, I find them more of a tool t...

Right, you can do everything you want on a PC. If you want to do your own stuff, then use whatever the hell you want. If you have intentions of actually working within the industry, learn to use a Mac and Pro Tools. Is that retarded? Cause it's the truth... and it's exactly what I said the first tim...

If you have any intensions of ever working in a pro studio, you might as well learn the Mac and ProTools.

A brilliant teacher and musician named Dick Lowell once told me that music is 50% math and 50% heart, and the two have to work together for the greatest impact.

For me, this definitely rings true, especially with music like Steve's.

He said 250,000 a year, but I tend to agree, I'm sure the 13 million includes his whitesnake and roth albums.

The song is about someone slipping Steve some acid while he was at college. Steve gave a detailed background to the song during the UZ tour.
