Great new Christmas Interview Video with Steve Vai

Steve Vai’s Our 2007 Rock ‘N’ Roll Santa Steve Vai is no stranger to modern guitar lovers. From his early years with Frank Zappa to the the G3 tours with Joe Satriani, Steve has been a major player. His awesome technique was featured in the 1986 movie Crossroads in which he played a demonically insp...

Ya, but where was his foot in the photo? Perhaps Steve forgot to lower his frequency from the higher "Alien" realms to our lower Human realm and was therefor invisible?

I think in the audio commentary Mikey says that Steve has a bunch of DBK's. Ya, I heard that as well, Mikey told Steve that he has a hole bunch of DBK's in the Vai's guitar "Vault". Steve also said something like he thought the DBK guitar looked cool with his pants he was wearing :-) Steve said he ...

If I am not mistaken, Mikey can say if this is not correct, Rich Pike & Mikey were and still are great friends and Rich kinda pushed/had a hand in getting Mikey the Vai gig.

In my own mind, Mikey was the perfect guy for the Gig and has outdone himself on many levels.

Peace

Steve's using a 7 DBK a lot in the new DVD!

I love the way that guitar looks when viewing it from the audiences point of view, I own two DBK's but never really realized just how freaken cool they look, cause I'm usually just looking down at it. It is cool to see him playing the DBK! That should also put to rest that the DBK is somehow a "less...

Jimmi Page and Hendrix and Joe Walsh are perfect example of a players that have stood the test of time and are also a little on the sloppy side Yeah but calling it sloppy is just a gay way of looking at it.It's a conscious stylistic decision they made to play raw and dirty bluesy rock n' roll and c...

I have always been way more Joe Walsh than Yngwie, and I am all about the slop & groove, If what you are trying to communicate is pain or fear/doubt in a musical phrase, that will never be accomplished through perfection. If you are in Tears while recording to the point you become a little sloppy bu...

The number is not important, the act of breathing consciously is what is important, I use a count of 4 or 5 myself.

Whatever number let's you get a very deep inhale is what should be used

3 would probably not be a good deep inhale, whatever works for you.

It's all about breathing, It's simple.... Breath in through your nose for a count of 4 Hold it for a count of 4 exhale for a count of four repeat 10 times or as long as you like Another great thing to do while doing this is to imagine a red laser line that begins at the top of your head and as it sw...
