Great show, amazing venue. I had to laugh when the guy running the fog machines set off the smoke alarms. You could hardly see a thing in that room for a minute or two.

Re: Rig Update
Lol, yep its all a conspiracy for you to buy more L3s. Its not conspiracy, its business and it happens everyday in every business out there.. You do what you have to to protect the image. Protect the brand. I would expect the Site Admin and anyone else working for Mr Vai would have been instr...

Re: Rig Update
It really doesn't matter to me if he uses the L3 version or not. He has a sound in his head he wants to create and the L1 does it for him. Maybe his rig was built with it before the L3? Maybe Thomas doesn't like teching them? Maybe he uses the L3 at home to serenade Pia when he gets randy because it...

Re: Rig Update
It's not that cut and dry I dont think. I look at it like this... A company approached Steve (or any other endorsee) to create a pedal/amp/guitar/window scraper. At that point in time it fits his needs perfectly. After a while, needs may change. He may want a different type of sweep on the wah, a wi...

Re: Rig Update
Endorsement deals vary wildly. Some get discounted gear, some get free gear, some get free gear and travel expenses for doing clinics, some get portions of items sold, etc. I'm sure guys like Jeries, who is apparently endorsed by TC Electronic, have a completely different arrangement than say a Petr...

Re: Rig Update
It's not him... it's Carvin- they're a business and want to sell more amps and make more money... All the companies evolve/put more products our/change things up- try to make more money- sell more gear. He never used the Legacy II- he designed it with Carvin but kept using what he was using... gave...

Re: Broken Guitar Causing A Little Stir in Korea
Could it be his phone is still set to US date time? Which would have put it a day before? If he took the picture on the 29th in Korea that would have been the 28th in the US.

Re: My Shaft Broke- Cant even believe it happened
Oh yeah, you can break the posts. I've done it. The arm holder is an easy fix. StewMac makes a Schaller replacement arm which is better than the Ibanez in my opinion. You would get the part that attaches to the trem and the arm. It's a screw type though, more like a floyd. If you want the same kind ...

Re: My Shaft Broke- Cant even believe it happened
By "shaft" do you mean trem post? If so, take it to a shop to get it replaced. Typically you need to use a press to get it in correctly and seated properly. You can do it with a hammer, but unless you really know what you are doing, I wouldn't fix that one myself.

Re: When Steve's off tour and recording, who maintains his j
I'm guessing he probably does most of the day to day stuff himself. He did "create" Greenie so he probably has the skills to change strings, level a trem and what not.

Re: '91 Ibanez RG570, would you "Evolution" or "The Breed"?
I have a 1991 570 with Evo neck and bridge and love it I also have a 1991 570 with breeds in the neck and bridge. I don't like it as much. I have another 89 570 that has a Tone Zone and a Air Norton and they sound great. I also have another 92 550 that has The Timmons on the bridge and a PAF Joe in ...

Re: Legacy I Question
Sort of, you can get the crunch, but it will be a "darker" version of that tone.
