Re: Steve Vai 10 Day Fast
Did he not do a 14 day fast when recording Alien Love Secrets? And I think he did one during the recording of P&W. Not sure. I would be very careful about a 10 day fast. Starving your body for that long is very dangerous and you must take proteins and vitamins otherwise your body will be missing vit...

Re: NEW STUDIO ALBUM FOR 2018?
Shockwave is the only Satch album I've downloaded in years. I liked parts of Super Colossal, but too many of the songs just evolved into 6 minute jams along the same melody. I just got tired of listening to that. He's got great melody no doubt. I agree, 2018 could be good. But would be nice to get a...

Re: NEW STUDIO ALBUM FOR 2018?
It's just that he said he would do an ALS album in the future but nothing has happened since. That was years ago. Was hoping for an update. I'd obviously love a full-on studio release, but considering how long Steve takes, that could be years away. He just seems to want to do everything except new m...

NEW STUDIO ALBUM FOR 2018?
Has anyone heard any gossip/rumours/news about a new studio album from Steve in 2018? I haven't listened to the Guitar World interview yet so don't know if it was mentioned then. I'm desperate for a new studio album. TSOL is now five years old. What happened to the ALS-type album, just drums, bass a...

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread
Yeah I'd like an answer to this too please Jeroen?
Does seem odd to have to buy one CD twice just to fill the Jewel Box...but at least we're getting somewhere.

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread
Amazon is selling the CD for £56. Seriously, is this not a joke? That CD is almost half the price of the box. What the hell is going on?

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread
I seriously hope not, because that just seems like a massive rip-off. This box is a farce.Prezidentman wrote:It's the same content, just different packaging, no?

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread
So, with the announcement of Modern Primitive going into the Jewel Box....can you explain how this works? Is this CD different to the release from a couple of months ago? Or am I simply now having to buy this for a second time?
Doesn't seem to add up? Can someone explain?

Re: The Official 'Secret Jewel Box' Thread
I admit I was pretty pissed off a while ago about the Box and how's it's basically fallen apart. I like your description of it's 'basically a middle finger to fans'. Yes, it kind of is, but it's not intentional. Whilst I'll be first in line waiting for an answer as to what's going on, it's not exact...

Re: Steve has changed over the years
I've noticed he's kind of slowed down, he doesn't seem as light on the fingers, I've watched bootlegs on Youtube from 2007, 2005 and even as far back as 2001, and back then he seemed to have more energy, and his fingers looked light as feathers, and were fast and precise, now he honestly seems to b...

Re: Passion & Warfare anniversary
Personally, I've had my fill of bands/artists playing old albums from start to finish. I'd rather he just put out a new release, a straight up rock record, guitars-drums-bass. That's what the vast majority of fans want. But, as ever, Steve does what the hell he wants so we'll just have to wait and s...

Re: Practicing/Playing 12 hours a day
I have recently just got into Yngwie. No idea why. 37 years old and I am now completely obsessed with his music. Just bought myself an Yngwie Fender, pedal, cable, the lot.....can't get enough Yngwie....and because of that I am now playing more than ever. It's hard to get the time to play if you've ...

Not a huge fan of the setlist....there's just so many songs I'll never bother to watch. Wish he'd shake it up a bit, but that's just me.
Biggest plus point is the sound. It sounds amazing. Really clear and tight.
Haven't watched the 3-hour feature yet.....don't have time!

Re: does anyone OWN A BAD HORSIE WAH WAH
I have the II version....which broke on me last week. I hardly ever used it to be fair, as I didn't actually like it. I'm not in the process of selling all my gear and investing in loads of new gear. Just bought an EVH 5150 III 112 combo...and it is absolutely incredible. Also bought a Fender YJM st...
